Individuals could be unsourced because either we haven't entered the source information yet or we just don't have sources for this information. In some cases by looking at the information associated with an individual you can ascertain where the information came from. For example, there may be a birth date without a source citation and there may be a census record linked to that individual. From there you can deduce where we came up with the birth date.
